Tagatar ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application Tagatar ("the App").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

The App does not require account creation or login. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information you provide directly.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, Google AdMob (our advertising partner) may automatically collect certain information for the purpose of serving ads:

• Device Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / GAID) — used for ad personalisation, frequency capping, and ad measurement.
• Device information — device model, operating system version, screen dimensions.
• IP address — used for geolocation (country-level) and fraud prevention.
• App interactions — ad views, taps, and engagement data for analytics and revenue reporting.

This data is collected and processed by Google AdMob in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We do not store, access, or transmit this data ourselves — it is handled entirely by the AdMob SDK integrated into the App.

1.3 Local Data (Stored On-Device Only)

The App stores the following information locally on your device only:

• Favorite avatars — seeds and style preferences you save (SQLite database).
• Generation history — a record of avatars you have created (SQLite database).
• Default style preference — your chosen default avatar style (SharedPreferences).
• Ad consent preferences — your choice regarding personalised ads (stored locally by the Google UMP SDK).

This data never leaves your device. You can clear history at any time from the App's Settings screen.

2. How We Use Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• App functionality — generating avatars based on your input, saving favorites and history.
• Advertising — serving ads via Google AdMob, including personalised or non-personalised ads based on your consent choice.
• Analytics & performance — ad network performance measurement, crash reporting, and engagement metrics handled by AdMob.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App uses Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob is a mobile advertising platform provided by Google LLC ("Google"). AdMob may use the Android Advertising ID and your IP address to serve personalised or non-personalised ads depending on your consent and regional regulations.

What AdMob collects:

• Android Advertising ID (resettable device identifier)
• IP address (approximate location)
• Device type, OS version, screen size
• Ad interactions (views, clicks)

AdMob may share this data with its ad technology partners for bidding, measurement, and fraud prevention. You can review the list of Google's ad technology partners at: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/9012903 .

3.1 Personalised vs Non-Personalised Ads

By default, the App may serve personalised ads. If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland, you will be asked to consent to personalised advertising through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent dialog. You can:

• Accept — personalised ads based on your interests and app activity.
• Reject or customise — non-personalised ads that are context-based (e.g., based on the app content) and do not use your Advertising ID or browsing history.
• Change your mind later — you can withdraw or modify your consent at any time through the App's Settings screen.

4. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob — advertising (see Section 3 above).
• DiceBear — open-source avatar generation library. Runs entirely on-device. No data is sent to external servers.

These third-party services have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information. We encourage you to review them.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

• With Google AdMob and its ad technology partners for ad serving and measurement as described in Section 3.
• If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
• To protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

6.1 Locally Stored Data

All locally stored data (favorites, history, preferences) remains on your device until you choose to delete it. You can:

• Clear all history from the Settings screen at any time.
• Remove individual favorites from the Favorites screen.
• Uninstall the App to remove all associated local data completely.

6.2 Ad-Related Data

Ad-related data collected by Google AdMob is retained per Google's own data retention policies. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations):

• Access and know what data is collected about you.
• Opt out of personalised advertising — you can disable personalised ads by adjusting your consent choice in the App's Settings screen or your device's Ads settings.
• Withdraw consent — if you previously consented to personalised ads, you can withdraw your consent at any time via the App's Settings. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
• Reset your Advertising ID — you can reset your Android Advertising ID at any time from your device's Settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID).
• Delete your data — all app-specific data can be deleted by clearing app data or uninstalling the App.
• Lodge a complaint — you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

For EEA, UK, and Swiss users: You will be presented with a consent dialog (via Google's UMP SDK) when you first open the App. You can accept, reject, or customise your consent choices. You can review and change your choices at any time from the App's Settings menu.

8. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent age of consent in your jurisdiction). The App's ads are served in compliance with Google's Designed for Families policies. If we become aware that a child has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information. All locally stored data resides in your device's app-specific sandboxed storage, which is inaccessible to other applications under Android's security model. Ad-related data transmitted to Google AdMob is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS protocols.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable regulations. Any changes will be reflected on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
